**Job Title: Vessel Fitter** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled vessel fitter to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for fitting and fabricating vessels and shell plates to construct water towers and storage tanks using blueprints and drawings. The role requires determining the orientation and degrees of a vessel, laying out, fitting up, and welding using flux core, primarily for structural and tack welds. **Responsibilities** + Fit and fabricate vessels and shell plates to construct water towers and storage tanks. + Utilize blueprints and drawings to determine the orientation and degrees of a vessel. + Lay out, fit up, and weld using flux core, primarily for structural and tack welds. + Perform own layout and fit-up tasks. + Operate cutting torch and perform take-offs. **Essential Skills** + 5 years of vessel fitting experience. + Ability to read blueprints and drawings. + Proficiency in welding using flux core. + Experience in fitting pressure vessels. + Ability to read tape measure. + Skill in operating cutting torch. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 10 years of experience is preferred. + Excellent proficiency with blueprints and drawings. + Experience utilizing a peddimaster - peddinghaus machine on structural steel components. + Experience building or fitting storage tanks or water towers. + Forklift and overhead crane operating skills. + Growth mindset and band saw experience. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic team where innovation and growth are encouraged. The role will start on the day shift, working from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with Saturdays as needed. After six months, the shift will rotate to nights for 2-4 months, working from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m. Monday through Friday, with a $1.25 shift differential. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $29.00/hr.
