The Manager of the Data Center Vertical’s core accountability is to drive growth in this end market. S/he will do so by collaborating with Enterprise strategy and multiple Segment marketing, sales, and product teams to develop and execute a comprehensive growth plan.
Key responsibilities include translating enterprise-wide strategy into an actionable growth plan, identifying attractive focus areas and driving above-market organic growth within them, executing demand and lead generation strategies, supporting customer retention, building relationships with sales and industry groups, and developing ideas for inorganic growth. All these actions will be grounded in customer and market interactions as well as technology roadmaps. This position will own the data center P&L through the segments and requires effectively influencing global executives at both the segment and divisional levels while engaging cross-functional teams to deliver aligned customer outcomes.
**Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:**
Responsible for all aspects of coordinating the actionable growth plan for the target high-growth market. This includes aligning divisions and supporting functions with strategic actions and ensuring specific actions are in place and embedded sustainably. This role will influence resource allocation across multiple divisions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Identifying Growth Opportunities:** Identify key areas of development, including technologies, solutions, and business models, to inform organic and inorganic opportunities (partnering, among others, with the Strategy team and XIL). Gather and analyze market insights to deliver actionable insights to segments and execute demand and lead generation strategies.
+ **Directing Cross-Enterprise Strategies:** Bridge and lead the Data Center (SAM $xBn, from Value Mapping, Share x) initiatives across divisions, working closely with the Xylem strategy team and the divisions.
+ **Executing Enterprise-Wide Growth Plan:** Ensure that a comprehensive growth plan that aligns with the company's business objectives is executed. Ensure specific actions are in place across segments by collaborating with various teams, including segment marketing, sales, and product teams. Showcase Xylem's expertise in this vertical.
+ **Architecting and driving the Data Center P&L:** Develop an enterprise P&L and ensure accountability is embedded and performance is delivered across the segments.
+ **Customer Retention and Relationship Building:** Build and maintain relationships with sales teams, strategic accounts and industry groups. Focus on client retention and ensure all actions are grounded in customer and market interactions as well as technology roadmaps.
+ **Influencing Global Executives:** Influence global executives at both the segment and divisional levels. Engage cross-functional teams to deliver aligned outcomes.
+ **Market and Technology Insights:** Leverage market insights and technology roadmaps to inform strategies and actions.
+ **Sustainable Knowledge Expansion:** Implement an educational strategy for sales and other internal and external stakeholders.
+ **Measurement and Performance Frameworks:** Establish measurement and performance frameworks and make performance highly visible across the enterprise.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
+ **Data Center Marketing:** Develop and ensure the successful implementation of marketing strategies and initiatives in the vertical.
+ **Vertical Marketing Processes:** Adopt vertical marketing processes, including collation of strategic plans, marketing plans, and communication, and ensure execution is owned in the divisions.
+ **Market Intelligence:** Use market insights to identify trends, opportunities, competitor activity, and customer needs. Identify areas of competitive advantage to grow current and potential markets.
+ **Segment Intelligence:** Gather and provide segment intelligence to Xylem and appropriate leadership.
+ **Industry Engagement:** Engage with industry associations and professional organizations to provide expertise. Externally represent the enterprise as a thought leader in the target market.
+ **Path to Profitable Growth:** Define in partnership with the strategy team and divisions, the optimal path to profitable growth within the vertical, including geographic expansion, development, and the pursuit of adjacent sub-verticals. Drive to ensure achievement of regional revenue and margin goals for the assigned segment. Support and ensure the execution of the regional segment strategies through driving value-based segmentation and alternatives analysis, including combined visibility of new product development, emerging market expansion, emerging technology, trends, or acquisition opportunities.
+ **Collaboration with Product Managers and Sales:** Collaborate closely with Product Managers and sales colleagues to ensure the identification of enterprise accounts and ensure that VOC is gathered for new solutions, products and business models and routes to market.
**Qualifications** :
+ Data Center Industry including applications and technology knowledge is preferred
+ +10 years relevant working experience including leading and/or influencing teams
+ BA/BS and Masters degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering
The estimated salary range for this position is $121,800 - $219,200 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
