Job Title: Verification & Validation System Engineer
Job Description

The Verification & Validation System Engineer will delve deeply into component and subsystem designs to develop and define verification approaches and types, clearly outlined in a Requirements Verification Compliance Matrix (RVCM). This role involves collaborating with various technical teams, including software, mechanical, modem, and compliance teams, to validate system-level and network-level operations from concept through execution. Additionally, the engineer will integrate and perform verification of the end-to-end RF communications system and meet with customers to select components. The position requires defining plans for on-orbit payload verification or satellite testing based on identified requirements, analyzing and mitigating potential self-interference and other system interference issues, interpreting test results, troubleshooting issues, performing root-cause analysis for any test failures, and documenting test results and key performance indicators.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and define verification approaches and types using a clearly defined Requirements Verification Compliance Matrix (RVCM).Collaborate with software, mechanical, modem, and compliance teams to validate expectations for system-level and network-level operations.Integrate and perform verification of the end-to-end RF communications system.Select components in meetings with internal and external customers.Define plans for on-orbit payload verification or satellite testing based on identified requirements.Analyze and mitigate potential self-interference and other system interference issues.Interpret test results, troubleshoot issues, and perform root-cause analysis for test failures.Document test results, test coverage, and other key performance indicators (KPI) metrics.Essential SkillsProficiency in systems engineering, requirements management, and test requirements.Experience in system level test design.On-orbit payload verification or satellite testing experience.Experience with launched products or space vehicle design.Additional Skills & Qualifications5+ years of experience in space vehicle, bus, RF payload, or optical payload integration and test or related industry experience.5+ years of experience developing space or communication system test requirements, plans, and procedures for system design verification and validation.5+ years of space system, bus, or payload engineering or related industry experience.5+ years of experience in space vehicle design and/or verification with launched products.4+ years of experience using standard electronic lab test equipment (e.g., network analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function generators, multimeters).4+ years of experience developing code in C, C++, Python, Docker, and Rust on Linux platform, along with industry-standard coding practices.Experience with testing satellite communications payloads, optical communications payloads, spacecraft bus, and constituent subsystems or space vehicle level.Work Environment

This role is based onsite in Northridge, CA, working within a dynamic team focused on low orbiting satellite payload development.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
