Venue Sourcing Manager - Reuters Events

Do you have a high level of attention to detail? Do you want to play an instrumental role in sourcing the venues for our global portfolio of B2B conferences? Are you keen to build on your event industry experience? If so, this might just be the role for you.

We're looking for a dedicated, focused and highly organised Venue Sourcing Manager to join Reuters Events. As part of this role, you'll be based in London (working on a hybrid basis) and will play a key role in sourcing the venues for our busy portfolio of physical events across a range of global locations.

About The Role

As a Venue Sourcing Manager, you will:

Analyse historical data and event profiling to ensure scope of event is in alignmentCreate and manage RFP’s using CventUnderstand the importance of flow of meeting space and review floorplans in accordance with thisPrepare accurate and succinct venue comparison documents and run shortlisting meetings effectivelyCreate event budgets ensuring financial targets are metRequest, review and amend venue contractsNegotiate rates (F&B minimum, rental, room blocks etc.) and contract clauses (commercial terms)Review previous event contracts to ensure rates are consistent and identify areas of growth/potential economies of scaleManage supplier expectationsPrepare event folders to hand over to the operational teamEngage and build relationships with GSO’s and other key contactsAssist in managing and updating our contact database across systemsRequest and review venue sustainability and diversity & inclusion initiativesResearch venues in potential growth citiesAttend site visits, industry tradeshows & fam trips

About You

B2B event sourcing & contracting experienceEvent budgeting experienceA level of commercial understandingExcellent level of attention to detailAbility to balance lots of projects simultaneously and to prioritize accordinglyAbility to negotiate effectively yet fairlyBe able to adapt swiftly to changes and problem solveBring a proactive energy to the teamAbility to build strong relationships both internally and with external suppliersGood understanding of how to use Excel, including basic formulasAbility to maintain best practices throughout the whole process
