Vendor Payable Manager I

Job Summary** Manages a team of employees that are responsible for 3rd party vendor aging, reconciliation of payment disputes and initial vendor service research. **II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. + Procures services through third-party vendors and technicians, ensuring quality and efficiency. + Maintains vendor relationships, negotiates agreements, and monitors service quality and contractual commitments. + Oversees vendor selection, qualification, and database management to optimize service performance. + Serves as the primary contact for purchases, service agreements, deliveries, and customer satisfaction concerns. + Resolves escalated vendor and technician issues while ensuring adherence to service level agreements. + Develops and assists in Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and business cases. + Directs vendor payment processes, tracking trends, improving procedures, and driving team performance. + Guides Vendor Payable Supervisors, fostering collaboration and efficiency among teams and external partners. + Manages department personnel needs, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and compensation decisions. **III. Supervisory Responsibilities** The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of supervisory employees. This includes: + Direct supervision of ________ full-time employees, including: + Indirect supervision of ________ full-time employees. **IV. Qualifications** The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree + High School Diploma or GED (accredited) + 4 years of relevant work experience. + 4 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement). Preferred Qualifications + Proficient leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and coach a team + Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement + Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present their point of view in varied business situation + Analytical and qualitative abilities + Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision. + Ability to prioritize based on department and company standards + Proficient in Microsoft Excel; advanced level (pivot tables, v-lookups & use of macros are standard practice) + Knowledge of Waste Management services, policies, and system interfaces a plus Normal setting for this job is: office setting in Windsor, CT. The expected base pay range for this hybrid position is $89,000- $120,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
