Vehicle Mechanic II
Baghdad, IRQ | Full Time RELYANT Global, LLC is currently seeking multiple Vehicle Mechanic II candidates for roles located in Baghdad, Iraq. The Vehicle Mechanic II is responsible for performing all levels of maintenance on a fleet of vehicles/trucks/buses/tow truck, while leading and a team of other mechanics. Role includes all aspects of the Vehicle Mechanic I role: facilitate the purchasing of parts/equipment needed to maintain fleet; aid in the establishment of work priorities when necessary; execute a preventative maintenance program for vehicles and equipment; providing technical assistance on complex repair problems; and prepare written estimates of repairs and costs, while also providing supervisory expertise to a team of mechanics. Responsibilities + Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. + Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services according to established schedules. + Ensure repairs are completed efficiently and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards. + Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify complex vehicle issues. + Provide technical guidance and support to junior mechanics and apprentices. + Stay current with technological developments in vehicle systems and maintenance techniques. + Supervise a team of vehicle mechanics, assigning tasks and monitoring work for quality and timeliness. + Train and mentor junior staff, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices. + Ensure adherence to safety protocols and proper use of tools and equipment. + Schedule maintenance and repair activities based on operational priorities and vehicle availability. + Coordinate with fleet managers and other departments to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. + Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs. + Assist in ordering, receiving, and managing parts, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance operations. + Monitor inventory levels and recommend reordering to ensure uninterrupted service. + Ensure all vehicle maintenance complies with local, state, and federal regulations. + Prepare reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and team performance as required by management. + Respond to service calls and perform field repairs as needed. + Participate in rotating on-call schedules for after-hours support. + Skills and Qualifications + Seven years of experience in the problem diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a wide variety of light, medium, heavy and/or specialized automotive equipment and other heavy equipment. + Experience in supervising diverse teams. + HS Diploma or equivalent + Ability to obtain a clearance, MRPT or alternative based on place of residency.
