Compensation includes a base salary of $65,500.00 - $98,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Supervisor, Vehicle Maintenance provides direction, leadership and technical expertise to employees and assigned shop locations, with a focus on
exceptional customer service in a cost-effective manner. The Supervisor will assist leadership in ensuring compliance with corporate policies, execute on operational business plans, and implementing procedures designed to improve efficiencies. Operational responsibilities include the fleet maintenance programs, scheduling, monitoring, vehicle assignments, vehicle compliance, accuracy of vehicle data, analyzing data and presenting results. Supervisor, Vehicle Maintenance identifies priorities, provides data for decision-making that delivers on the operational vision and strategy, responsible for management and control of P&L, and follow guidelines for approved budgets to ensure alignment with finance partners and senior leadership.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership, mentorship, development, and direction for a team of technicians, and business support roles within designated areas.
Engage with Fleet Services leadership to identify priorities and drive decision making that delivers operational vision and strategy.

Partner with Fleet Services leadership team to implement organizational functions, build strategic capabilities, and ensure delivery on the current-state business needs.

Partner with other teams within the organization to communicate business needs and ensure they are aligned with operational goals, improved relations, increased fleet reliability, and improved results.
Lead end-to-end operations and assess staffing levels, review work volumes, plan and continuously monitor to ensure efficiency, qualify work product, and effective customer service.
Monitor team performance and take necessary actions for the safety of all employees.
Collaborate with the HR Business Partner on employee initiatives and escalate issues as needed.
Manage team on all vehicle operations including maintenance, reporting, assignments, scheduling, and vehicle compliance.
Responsible for training, monitoring, coaching, time management, and performing reviews with team members.
Establish relationships with local business partners to communicate and enforce corporate fleet policies, processes, and standards.
Work alongside team members performing vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting, guidance, and repairs when necessary.
Perform diagnosis, repairs and maintenance which may include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine and drive line components, etc.
Maintain operational requirements by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing production and control standards and procedures while ensuring cost, quality and delivery commitments are met.
Implement and ensure compliance with all safety measures, promoting a culture of zero injuries.
Meet with local customer base and conduct field visits to maintain current knowledge of vehicle operations.
Work with customers, both internal and external, to resolve escalated service issues and support during catastrophic events.
Maintain outside vendor and service provider relationships.
Develop and implement key performance indicators that provide guidance for improvement of the operation, team, and business partner knowledge.
Responsible for compliance and accuracy of invoices, purchase orders and procurement card submissions, maintenance records and vehicle data.
Required Qualifications: (how many years of experience are required for this job?)
Education
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Associate’s degree, BA/BS or Technical certification + up to 5 years of equivalent experience in a similar capacity in related field.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in management or leadership role.
Minimum of 5 years working in an Automotive Fleet shop.
Knowledge of motor vehicle engines, parts, and systems, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, to make repairs or perform maintenance services.
Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hrs. of hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, including experiencing high-level business discussions and low-level technical discussions to drive alignment and bring clarity to the overall vision.
General understanding of the Department of Transportation (DOT), federal, state, and local regulations affecting vehicle maintenance operations.
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

Experience developing and managing process and performance measurement tools

Must continue to train on OEM offered training sites to understand and stay fluent with technology changes.

Ability to communicate information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner.
Ability to maintain accurate records, asset inventories and to create/analyze reports.
Ability to interact with internal and external business partners supporting corporate policy, standards, processes, and procedures.
Proficient in understanding, analysis, and management of vehicle information to provide recommendations.
Self-motivated, able to manage expectations, prioritize work to meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast paced, high-energy environment.
Strong customer service and organization skills required.
Works well in a team environment by supporting departmental initiatives and goals.
Provide excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree, BA/BS + up to 7 years of equivalent experience in a similar capacity in related field.
OEM training and certifications are preferred.
Possess or able to obtain ASE Master certification within 18 months of employment.
Minimum 5 years of customer service experience.
Transmission and diesel experience.
Battery electric vehicle experience and/or training.
Other
Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record required & vehicle/insurance to meet transportation needs.
Must be able to obtain Class A or B Operator’s license if required.
Must be willing to complete a background check after an offer of employment has been made, and urine drug screen.
Possess and supply a set of hand tools supporting shop operations.
Ability to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time).
Must be 21 years of age or older
Work Environment
Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level
Lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time; ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work.
Physical Environment
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds (tools, equipment).
