Job DescriptionOversee the maintenance, repair, and optimization of tooling and equipment used in battery manufacturing processes.Ensure that all tools are functioning effectively and meet production specifications.Lead tooling improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.Supervise and train a team of tooling technicians, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.Monitor team performance and provide guidance and support for continuous improvement.Work closely with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot tooling-related issues and implement solutions that support efficient battery manufacturing.Ensure that tooling changes or adjustments are communicated and implemented effectively within production schedules.Maintain high standards of quality and precision in tooling to meet automotive industry and customer requirements.Ensure all tooling activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and operational efficiency within tooling operations.Drive initiatives that contribute to the long-term reliability and cost-effectiveness of tooling and manufacturing processes.Prepare source package and manage sourcing from technical standpoint.Define installation specifications and support installation study.Release component Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) (Environmental, EMC tests, etc.)Lead coordination meetings with suppliers to verify activities progress.Manage component development plan.

Qualifications7-10 years of experience with Automotive Tooling design / maintenance.Knowledge of dimensional control and GD&T is important.3-5 years' experience with tooling and equipment used in battery line production for vehicles.Leadership in working with skilled trades / contractors installing tooling with knowledge of: Bridge rails, bridge hardware, trollies, festooning, DC Torque tool controllers, etc.Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Software Engineering or similar.Experience in the role.Excellent knowledge of Advanced Driver.Knowledge of ISO26262, Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).Experience working in cross functional teams.Ability to work as a team member and confidently alone. Reliable under pressure.Project Management skills.Good problem-solving skills.Excellent communication, strong leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills.High level of proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
