Job Description
The VDC Manager is responsible for managing Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes and activities to support assigned projects. This role involves providing models and documents necessary to complete project scopes, maintaining effective project documentation, and supporting operations with the RFI process for BIM-related items. The manager also collaborates with VDC Directors and Self-Perform VDC to ensure services, deliverables, and schedules meet project objectives.
ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain clear project documentation including meeting agendas, minutes, and constraint logs.Read and interpret shop drawings, submittals, and product data, incorporating necessary items into the BIM process.Manage and maintain productive and efficient BIM processes.Support and collaborate with VDC Directors and project teams to ensure VDC services and schedules meet objectives.Maintain working relationships with owners, subcontractors, and project teams.Read and interpret owner requirements and BIM execution plans.Develop composite models by assembling 3D content provided by designers and trade contractors.Lead VDC processes and standards.Manage change processes and incorporate changes into project models.Track and communicate schedule and budget impacts to operations teams.Provide BIM technical support to internal project teams.Participate in the development of project-specific BIM execution plans and budgets.Implement best practices and processes.Lead design and project teams through VDC processes on large projects.Partner with cross-functional teams by providing model-based support and solutions.Implement and lead project-specific VDC strategies to meet overall objectives and goals.Supervise and lead others as needed.Essential SkillsProficiency in Navisworks, Revit, BIM, Bluebeam, Autodesk BIM, Trimble SketchUp, and AutoCAD.Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Proficiency in MS Office.Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a construction-related field.At least 5 years of construction or related experience.At least 5 years of BIM-related experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Revit MEP, Design, and Navisworks.Demonstrated expertise in managing VDC processes for medium to large scale projects.Experience with the person is a plus.Work Environment
The work environment is primarily office-based, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $60.00/hr.
