Role Overview
The Financial Services Tax team are recruiting a VAT Assistant Manager/Manager, you will play a key role in managing and delivering VAT compliance services to a diverse portfolio of global clients. You will ensure accurate and timely VAT filings, provide technical VAT advice, and support clients in navigating current and future complex VAT regulations across Ireland and the EU.

Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end VAT compliance for a large portfolio of global corporate clients across various sectors, ensuring high quality client services. Advise clients on VAT implications of complex transactions, restructures, and cross-border activities. Support clients during VAT audits and investigations, liaising directly with Revenue and other tax authorities. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, communicate relevant updates to clients and internal teams, supporting them in assessing and implementing resulting changes. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor. Lead innovative business development initiatives with clients, working with them to drive process improvements and efficiencies across their VAT operations. Take a lead role in advancing VAT compliance procedures, adopting automation technologies to further drive efficiency and improve client service experience. Manage and lead the VAT team, including the training and mentoring of junior staff.
Candidate Profile Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation. Professional Qualification: CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience in VAT compliance, ideally within a professional services firm. Strong technical knowledge of Irish and EU VAT legislation. Proven experience managing a large VAT compliance portfolio and handling complex VAT issues. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing staff.Skills:
Excellent time management and organisational skills, ability to manage competing client deadlines and priorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and avoiding errors and risks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in VAT software and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or firm-specific platforms) is an advantage.
