**_REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:_**
+ Must meet one of the three following educational/experience requirements pluscurrent BLS certification:
+ Satisfactory completion of a formal vascular technology training program (1-4 years) must be registry eligible with application for current year
– or –
+ Graduate from a diagnostic ultrasound training program (2-4 years) with 1 full additional year of full-time clinical experience in a dedicated vascular lab and registry eligible with application for current year
– or –
+ Approximately two years of college with emphasis on the biological sciences with two years experience in a dedicated vascular laboratory and registry eligible with application for current year.
+ Certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible with application in current year.
**_JOB SUMMARY:_**
This position works under limited supervision to provide advanced technical skills in the performance of non-invasive tests used in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease. Responsibilities include performing a full range of non-invasive vascular tests and related duties in patient care and academic/research environment.
**_ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:_**
+ Operates ultrasound equipment for data acquisition, documentation of images and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
+ Prepares a summary of technical findings for interpretation by vascular surgeon.
+ Provides preliminary technical interpretations to ordering physician(s).
+ Applies the profession’s code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
+ Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
+ Provides assistance to rotating students, interns, and residents.
+ Performs data collection for quality assurance and research programs.
+ Practices safety measures in Environment of Care.
+ Assists the Technical Manager/Director with the maintenance of laboratory accreditation via ICAVL and JCAHO through standardized protocols.
+ Participates in research projects.
+ Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times
+ Is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of vascular disease and new procedures, as they evolve.
+ Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
**_WORK SCHEDULE:_**
Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4:00pm with some call required.
