Job Overview:

Vascular Technologist will review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information including patient history, lab results, and physician orders. Obtains necessary clinical information from patients and compares requisitions to physicians orders to ensure exam accuracy.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or GED Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Vascular Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or a related fieldPrevious experience in a vascular lab or similar healthcare setting

Preferred:

Two years of vascular imaging experienceOne year of medical office experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Registered Vascular Technologist, RVTBasic Life Support certification from American Heart Association Current certification or eligibility for certification from a recognized credentialing organization: ARDMS or CCI

Scheduling Requirements:

Day Shift Part-Time

Essential Functions:

Assisting physicians with exams and procedures, preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs e.g. blood pressure, temperature and educating patients about procedures and follow-up careAdministering medications or vaccines under the supervision of a healthcare professionalChanging dressings and providing wound careSetting up and monitoring EKGsScheduling patient appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flowMaintaining medical supplies inventory and ensuring equipment is in good working orderAnswering phones, greeting patients, and providing general administrative supportExplaining procedures, medications, and follow-up care to patientsPerform non-invasive vascular diagnostic tests such as Doppler ultrasound and plethysmographyAssist physicians in the monitoring and interpretation of vascular studiesPrepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concernsMaintain and calibrate diagnostic equipment to ensure its proper functioningDocument patient information and test results accurately in medical recordsCollaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plansProvide high-quality patient care and ensure patient comfort during proceduresAnalyze and provide preliminary interpretations of test results to physiciansMaintain patient records in accordance with healthcare regulationsStay up to date with the latest advancements in vascular technology and proceduresFollow all safety protocols and infection control guidelines during proceduresEducate patients and their families about vascular health and preventive measuresParticipate in continuous education and training programs to enhance skillsOther duties as assigned
