Value Stream Manager - Materials

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for key metrics including safety, inventory accuracy, delivery, space optimization, and employee engagement for the total value stream of material receipt, storage, delivery and material integrity within the operations function. This position will require collaboration with the supply chain and production teams to ensure all internal and external customer demands are satisfied. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and lean tools will be a key part of optimizing material flow throughout the facility. This position has direct oversight for production supervision and inventory control personnel. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Achieve all safety, quality, delivery, engagement and productivity initiatives to deliver monthly objectives and year over year improvement. + Through partnership with the safety team, develop and lead safety improvements within the value stream focused on the highest impact areas of risk, and lead with a safety-first mindset. + Drive engagement and accountability to all policies and procedures through servant leadership and Gemba deployment. + Conduct effective change management process and communication plans ensuring proper involvement of key stakeholders of change. + Work collaboratively, across multiple stakeholders, including safety, quality, human resources, continuous improvement, engineering, and finance to solve operational issues and improvements. + Facilitate the performance management process for all direct reports including leadership effectiveness and career development opportunities. + Provide a work environment which adheres to all compliance and regulatory guidelines. + Establish a strong working relationship with Bargaining Unit employees and leaders. + Development and implementation of PFEP strategy. Integrating material storage and rack design with MOQs, order frequency, and lead times. + Responsible for development and implementation of overall continuous improvement strategy for material storage optimization, PFEP, and material flow; maximizing the ability to store material onsite. + Achieve Material flow implementation according to Future State plan. + Effectively produce written documents such as production reports or procedures/ work instructions when necessary EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: + Bachelor’s degree in Business, or similar, minimum 5 years manufacturing or supply chain experience and 2 years in first and second level manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + A minimum of 2 years of experience in material processing ownership and execution within a manufacturing environment. + Demonstrated servant leadership behaviors to influence and manage people/teams. + Demonstrated ability to work in a challenging, results oriented environment. + Ability to influence and create followership with others. + Strong initiative, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
