Value Optimization Driver - Power Electronics

The Value Optimization Driver (VOD) is responsible for defining and leading the Value Optimization activities of his/her area, and reports to PRS VO manager. The selected candidate will have to work with a team of VO Specialists across regions and pilot VO ideas from creation till implementation through the collaboration with different stakeholders (engineers, suppliers, vehicle integration, purchasing, quality, finance, …etc.). Additionally, the VOD could be requested to support the Supplier VO activity by being the pilot of PRS for TOP suppliers requiring executive reviews and monthly management meetings.

 

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

Generate, plan and provide solutions to Projects and platforms to achieve savings targets Engage suppliers on VO activities through dedicated meeting and management reviews Challenge teams on technical and economic aspects to reach profitable business cases Define the idea generation roadmap over the next 12 months including activities with suppliers Work upstream with pre-launch programs to support TPC recovery plan Support the benchmarking activity plan

 

Technical / Managerial Skills:

Promote saving ideas generation through workshops, supplier involvement, benchmarking data analysis Lead inter-functional teams for technical feasibility and economical evaluation of saving proposals Provide information and data needed for business case certification Manage and ensure saving proposals fertilization across products also on development programs Manage action portfolio database to define priorities and potential synergies across proposals Share with Platform and PR’s actions to prevent risks in proposal implementation and define topics for escalation process where needed Support Systems/Components Benchmark activity for Ideas generation & Cost Engineering Lead design review meetings and development activities with Tier 1 suppliers Consult System/component packaging activities with advanced concept engineering team

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in the fields of Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university Well-versed in Excel, PowerPoint and Google and Microsoft based programs Knowledge of automotive design with a focus on electrification portfolio Understanding of automotive technology and application  Effective presentation/public speaking skills Experienced with problem solving tools Demonstrated ability to coach and teach others Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Autonomous and self-motivated  Basic understanding of vehicle electrification along with design, development and validation phases

 

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in engineering with specific attention to electrical or electrification commodity engineering design, development and validation Previous experience on the following areas: Engineering, Value Optimization, Cost Management, Supplier Quality EOE / Disability / Veteran
