Job Description & Summary

Under the supervision of the senior team, provide valuation advisory services to corporate and audit clients respectively, for businesses across a range of sectors and geographies. 

With the supervision, assistance and guidance of the managers, directors and partners, and working as a member of the team assisted with: 

Conducting financial statement analysis on subject entities and understand items such as the key performance indicators, capital expenditure assumptions, working capital and non-cash items. 

Analysing the balance sheet of a business for use in determining operating and non-operating items for use in analysis. 

Preparing valuations using the income approach, market approach and net asset value approach. 

Preparing and/or reviewing the cost of capital (WACC or cost of equity) for use in valuations as appropriate. 

Comparing and contrasting valuations of the client (equity value and/or enterprise value) to the PwC valuation model. 

Conducting industry and macroeconomic analysis in order to determine industry drivers and value-add for use in client deliverables. 

Conducting peer group analysis for use in calculating the cost of capital and the market comparable approach and market transaction approach. 

Determining and providing rationale for appropriate discounts (such as marketability or minority) and premiums (such as size and control) for use in analysis. 

Assisting the associate directors and partners in their business development endeavours by providing input to proposals, project budgeting and risk management.   

Analysing the current financial position, key drivers of value of businesses across a range of sectors and geographies.  

Considering the reasonability of client forecast assumptions. 

Work alongside other PwC teams, including specialist lines of service and sector experts. 

Preparation of presentations, reports and memorandums for clients.

Qualifications /  

Certifications required: 

● CA (SA) would be advantageous  

● CFA or studying towards CFA would be advantageous 

Experience required:  

● Some prior valuations experience preferential

Skill sets required:   ​

The successful candidate will have a support role to play in the team across a broad range of business and other valuations for:  

● acquisitions,  

● disposals,  

● tax and regulatory compliance purposes,  

● financial reporting and audit assistance purposes.  

● The candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of clients, from global multinationals through to entrepreneurial, owner managed businesses, covering both domestic and cross border work  

● Strong financial and analytical skills are critical;
