We are looking for an Associate, who is working within the Finance Valuation Risk Controlling Team. Morgan Stanley Valuation Control provide an independent valuation opinion across the entire spectrum of financial instruments within the firm's sales and trading inventory and proprietary investment portfolio, ranging from vanilla products to the most complex structured and derivative transactions. The team leverages its diverse quantitative skill set and intimate product expertise to act as a guardian and approver of valuation methodology. The group's key clients are senior trading management and senior Finance management.

What will you be doing?
Be part of the Continental Europe and Credit Complex Valuation Control Teams covering Corporate, EM and Securitized Credit.Work with a wide-range of financial products – from plain vanilla cash product to the most exotic structured derivatives productsBe responsible for enhancing the valuation control framework for Continental EuropeUndertake Independent Price Verification (IPV) of a global portfolio of assets using external data sources and financial modelsDebate IPV results and marking methodologies with front-office tradersReview valuation and risk models, work closely with model developersBe responsible for enhancing and streamlining existing working processesUnderstand global financial markets, following up market movements and understanding impact on the businessBe involved in project work as required on new systems and functionality enhancementsWhat we’re looking for:
Completed degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Business related disciplineDeep knowledge of main financial products, their market context, and associated risksClear, structured communication and interpersonal skillsWillingness to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment with shifting prioritiesStrong analytical, quantitative skills and proficient user of ExcelKnowledge of relevant pricing models and risk management techniques is an advantageAbility to understand code in VBA/Python or another programming language commonly used in the financial industry is an advantageFluency in EnglishSkills that will help you in the role:
Ability to challenge the valuation methodologies proposed by the trading desk and model developersGood understanding of IT and systemsAbility to work effectively as a member of a team or independentlyWillingness to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment with shifting prioritiesAbility to work effectively under pressure when confronted with tight deadlinesAbility to develop strong internal client relationshipsStrong computing skills, most notably Microsoft OfficeWhere will you be working?
