UX Product Director

The UX Product Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring a unified and cohesive user experience across Pfizer’s digital products. This role will oversee the creation, deployment and evolution of Pfizer’s marketing design system, acting as its primary owner and advocate. This will streamline the cross-channel application of the Pfizer brand across our existing email and website design systems, ensuring consistency, scalability and content reuse across additional platforms and channels. Reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Marketing UX, this role will provide strategic oversight and program leadership to unify design efforts, optimize workflows, and elevate Pfizer’s customer engagement ecosystem. The Director will work closely with UX, brand, product and development teams to drive the adoption and continuous evolution of a centralized design system strategy, manage the roadmap, and document guidelines. In addition, they will be responsible for providing training and support to internal teams and AORs and communicating the design system's value to stakeholders. They will play an important role in aligning the design system with Pfizer’s business goals and keeping the organization updated on industry trends. Strong communication and collaboration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential for success in this role. 

Key Responsibilities:

The UX Product Director will combine their product, design, UX and technical expertise with their strong communication skills to empower teams to build beautiful, functional and business aligned products easily and efficiently. 

Strategic Leadership: Define and champion a strategic vision for Pfizer’s design systems, aligning cross-functional teams on a unified approach to Pfizer brand implementation across digital experiences 

Program Oversight: Lead the governance, adoption, and evolution of Pfizer’s design systems, ensuring they meet the needs of internal teams while driving efficiency, scalability, and consistency 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, UX, product, digital, legal, and brand teams to ensure design systems support business objectives and are seamlessly integrated into digital workflows 

Operational Excellence: Develop processes and frameworks that enable teams to efficiently implement Pfizer’s brand in design execution, minimizing redundancy and optimizing resources 

Enablement & Change Management: Drive organizational adoption and training, ensuring teams understand how to leverage Pfizer’s design systems effectively 

Performance & Optimization: Monitor effectiveness, adoption, and usage of design systems, identifying opportunities for ongoing improvement and innovation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of experience in product management, program management, UX strategy, or digital transformation, with a focus on design systems and/or customer experience platforms 

Experience planning, executing and optimizing a design system for a large multinational brand  

Proven leadership in cross-functional program execution, influencing diverse teams without direct authority 

Deep understanding of design operations, UX best practices, and digital ecosystem management 

Background in management consulting and/or advertising/ marketing agencies, with a focus on strategy, execution, and brand experience 

Knowledge of UI and UX design principles and experience working in design system tools and software such as Figma 

Experience working in agile development environments 

Experience leveraging data driven metrics to inform requirement and roadmap planning 

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Preferred Qualifications 

Experience in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or highly regulated industries 

Familiarity with front-end development workflows, content management systems, and digital marketing platforms 

Track record of driving enterprise-wide transformation efforts related to design, branding, or digital customer engagement

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156,600.00 to $261,000.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
