UX Engineer II

We’re seeking a **UX Engineer II** to join the ModeDS (Motion Development and Design Systems) team to help craft high-quality, consistent experiences across Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Planner, and Engage.
We are uniquely positioned between Design and Engineering, which provides us the opportunity to tackle UX challenges holistically, especially in an era where AI is reshaping how we design, build, and ship. You will collaborate with partners across products and disciplines, including Product Design, Research, Engineering and Product Management.
You will support our design system by developing features with an eye for accessibility and polish. You will also have the opportunity to help evolve our design-to-code workflows by introducing new tooling and automation into our systems. Our goal is to create deeper efficiencies in our system and between Design and Engineering.

**Responsibilities**
+ Develop polished front-end components and experiences.
+ Identify and implement tools that improve design processes and alignment between design and engineering teams.
+ Act as a liaison and fill in gaps between design and engineering, communicating with stakeholders when technology constraints require design compromises.
+ Follow best practices and provide code review feedback to your peers.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 2+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years’ experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with other teams (Design, Research, Engineering, and Product Management).
+ Comfortable working through ambiguity and multiple priorities.
+ Proven ability to work within tight timelines with excellent communication skills.
+ GitHub or a similar work portfolio is highly encouraged.
+ Solid front-end fundamentals (accessibility, performance, and responsive design).
+ Full-stack experience (e.g. NodeJS, Electron, Microsoft Azure).
+ Experience developing or working with internal design systems.
+ Experience developing or working with MCP servers.Experience with Figma. Bonus points if you’ve developed plugins.
UX Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
