Compensation Range

Hourly: $38.65 - $51.45 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to create satisfying and compelling digital experiences, drawing from results of user research and workflow analysis. These designs will be crafted by partnering closely with UX Research, multiple IT areas, and business partners with the ultimate goal of satisfying end users and supporting business goals.

Essential Functions

Turn internal client goals and objectives into basic design prototypes that reflect current user-centered design standards principles

Adhere to and help maintain basic style guides, design guides, and design libraries

Represent the UX design practice across the organization

Collaborate with senior UX designers to ensure adherence to UX standards, grow design skills, and deliver high-quality digital experiences

Continuously learn and evaluate existing sites for viewport adaptation, aesthetic appeal, and ease of use

Participate in project-level planning and overall design of the user experience for multiple projects

Assist with user testing functions

Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Basic understanding of UX industry best practices including processes and methodologies

Basic familiarity with inclusive design practices and producing interfaces that adhere to accessibility (WCAG) standards

Competency in a variety of design tools with a focus on Figma

Competent in information and interaction design

Ability to adhere to creative direction for a multitude of brands in the Commerce Bank suite of products

Ability to communicate complex design concepts and customer journeys to a variety of customers

Aptitude to adhere to and maintain style guides, design guides, and design libraries

Ability to understand business metrics and translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences

Ability to communicate ideas to developers and product owners

Problem-solving skills to determine solutions to user interface challenges

Analytical mind with business acumen

Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

1+ years of Interaction Design experience required

Design or computer-related programs such as Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) experience required

**This is a remote position in Kansas City, MO or St. Louis, MO with expectations to be in the office for moments that matter.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $38.65 to $51.45 per hour. Depending on the job level, this position may be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
