How you will create an impact
Responsible for Commercial Property Ecuador P&L
Ensure that production growth targets are achieved and provide leadership to take remedial action to address shortfall
Establish / execute strategic business plans to achieve profitable growth in line with Profit Centre & country targets
Prepare, manage, and execute production and expense budgets in line with Profit Centre & country targets.
Ensure adherence with all underwriting guidelines and bulletins
Manage the portfolio in profitable and sustainable growth, closely following claims activity trends
Ensure adherence with all reporting requirements
Review, analyze and underwrite new and renewal business within underwriting authority
Provide technical direction to underwriters in the Profit Centre
Support team and orientates to negotiate terms and conditions with clients and broker
Works with Brokers to determine Insurance needs and provide solutions.
Keep abreast of market changes and trends. Provide strategic direction for new business / new product development
Develops key broker relationships and attracts new business across the entire segment.
Works closely with engineering team and across the organization to develop and deliver tailored solutions.
Communicates and collaborates across the organization- Claims, Product Management, Loss Control, Legal, Distribution to provide solutions/recommendations to achieve organizational success.
What you’ll need to succeed
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
5 to 10 years of experience underwriting property lines in the middle market and large account segments.
Experience working with loss control engineering data in a property underwriting context.
Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as in a team to accomplish goals
Strong analytical, decision-making, and marketing skills are required.
A recognized Property insurance expert in the Ecuadorian marketplace
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Must have excellent communication, organization, negotiating and leadership skills.
Ability to work in a matrix environment.
Advanced English skills.
