Position Overview

As a Utility Tree Trimmer, you can rest assured that one day will never be the same as the other. In this role you will have a chance to travel to several work sites across a geographic area and put your certification as either a Certified Utility Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer to work as you safely execute trimming for our utility clients; the work you do will ensure the ongoing and safe transmission of electricity.

Job Duties Provide expert level tree trimming services and inspections to client properties. Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader. Responsible for climbing, pruning, and removing trees as per work specifications. Perform required general maintenance and daily inspection of equipment. Removal or trimming of trees and brush encroaching onto utility or transportation rights of ways. Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more. Manage customer service expectations, safely lead jobsite and crew operations. Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures. Qualifications 3 years experience performing pruning and removals from rope and saddle, and aerial lift. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Advanced chainsaw and chipper operation. Strong tree and shrub identification skills. Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset. Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.
