Industry Experience $25-28/Hr
Non-Industry Experience $20/Hr

Overtime: Time and a half after 40hrs/wk, average work week 40-50hrs

Position OverviewThe UAM Pole Technician 3 is responsible for demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure-specific requirements and applying this expertise in the inspection and restoration of utility structures. The role requires the ability to work independently in the field as a one-person crew, carrying out utility inspection and restoration tasks. Core duties involve frequent travel, daily physical tasks, and operating a company vehicle, all while adhering to strict safety protocols. This position supports the inspection, restoration, treatment, and enhancement of utility infrastructure. This is an individual contributor position, working in a field environment.
Job Duties● Operate independently when required, demonstrating self-sufficiency and initiative.*
● Operate a company vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.*
● Collaborate with team members and other departments as needed to complete projects and improve processes.*
● Participate in the preparation of poles for treatment, including assessing the pole surface and applying preservatives.*
● Navigate to designated utility pole locations using GPS and other navigation tools.*
● Utilize technology, including iPads, cameras, and GIS software, for accurate data collection and documentation in the field.*
● Assist in training new hires on inspection procedures, safety protocols, and the use of technical equipment.*
● Conduct inspections of utility poles to assess their condition and determine the need for treatment and restoration.*
● Utilize handheld equipment such as drills, tensioners, and crimpers.*
● Provide guidance and mentorship to new employees in the field.*
● Excavating holes around utility poles as required for site preparation.*
● Backfilling holes upon completion of work.*
● Assisting in the installation of steel trusses, utilizing pneumatic equipment.*
● Perform strenuous physical activities including extensive walking, lifting, and carrying heavy equipment.*
● Maintain cleanliness and order at job sites including clean-up tasks.*
● Professionally interact with landowners to ensure clear communication and understanding of site activities.*
● Work and function effectively as part of a team.*
● Conduct oneself professionally in public settings while representing Davey Resource Group.*
● Ensure the proper care and maintenance of any vehicle and equipment assigned including regular inspections, maintenance checks, and prompt reporting of any issues to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance personnel.*
● React safely and appropriately in emergency situations.*
● Report and respond timely and accurately to the supervisor.*
● Participate in employee and professional training events as assigned.*
● Willingness and ability to travel extensively (75-100%) as required by project demands.*
● Perform other related duties as assigned.
