POSITION SUMMARY
Operate machinery to make power cable and prepare for shipping to customer.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSReview documentation / work orders Set up machinery / processes in Tower, pay off and take up areas (assigned area) Operate machinery in assigned area Clean and reassemble machinery in assigned area Monitor controls, materials, and processes in assigned area Monitor quality of production Load / replace materials in assigned area Change out product and splice product for continued production Repair machinery and prepare components for machines in assigned area Coordinate other repairs with maintenance and engineering Operate power moving devices, change propane cylinders Communicate with supervisor Direct helpers Document processes Ability to work independently and as part of a team.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONSExperience in the wire & cable industry a plus but not required.High school degree required.Read/use precision gauges and tools.Perform shop math.Read/follow written instructions.Use a computer for simple tasks.Strong focus on teamwork

SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

            

   Position requires individuals with proven mechanical aptitude. Must have the ability to:

Read micrometers and other related precision tools.Perform shop arithmetic.Read and follow written instructions.Communicate effectively to receive and pass on information and instructions.Trouble-shoot basic line problems.Continuously pay attention to detail.Fulfill simple computer tasks.Work within a Team structure.Perform good conductor welds
