Utilities Specialist

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Safe and OTIF execution of all maintenance work regarding utility equipment, also in coordination with external service providers.

SAFETY, FOOD SAFETY & SUSTAINABILITY

Executes all maintenance jobs in utilities safely and OTIF. Makes equipment safe to work on and guards safety during work Basic safety and operation checks.

QUALITY

Executes all maintenance jobs OTIF and with the required quality in the Utilities section.

WORK PROCESSES

Executes all utilities maintenance work. Coaches, trains, and supports CILT execution. Conducts tagging if required or appropriate. Supports AM by demonstrating (CILT) standards. Optimizes between machine capacity and demand Executes emergency procedures Continues and follows up on breakdown analysis. Supervises service providers for major work. Executes troubleshooting; escalation to zone technicians after 15 minutes Utilizes the work preparation room.

ORGANIZATION, INTERFACES & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Reports to the Utilities Manager. Communicates and cooperates with utilities operators. Communicates with the planning & preparation team.

TPM & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Analyzes corrective maintenance for the designated zone. Supports the management of maintenance plans, master asset data, asset performance, and cost analysis (asset technical specialist). Participates in RCFA (5 whys) or organizes for his/her team to participate, including training/mentoring. Trains utility operators in troubleshooting of frequent failures. Validates solution for breakdowns. Validates repairs in the Utilities section. Supports operators in attacking MTBA.

INFORMATION & DATA MANAGEMENT

Knowledge and understanding of utilizing Power BI and data analysis.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Other Qualifications

Engineering degree or diploma in Chemical or Mechanical (BSc Eng., B-Tech, or National Higher Diploma). Alternatively, a National Diploma with a trade test certificate may be accepted.

Experience & Knowledge

Typically, 5-10 years’ experience in engineering, production, or utilities management in industrial settings. Experience and/or certification related to utilities operation, such as boilers, water treatment, energy management, or process utilities, are valued.

Specific Experience

Good troubleshooting skills and very good technical machine knowledge. Experienced in TPM and the ability to execute AM activities and to train operators in AM. TPM way of working methodology Strong technical and analytical skills in utilities processes. Ability to lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Emphasizes sustainability and safety compliance in utility operations and plays a supportive function in operational excellence at the brewery. Good communication and coordination capabilities for internal and external stakeholders. English communication skills are considered a bonus.
