Roles & Responsibilities

The UT/ Destruct Technician will verify the integrity of adhesive, welds and fasteners through the use of Non-Destructive and Destructive methods and follow all SOPs in accordance with Kamtek controlled and documented procedures. Responsible for supporting safety, quality, and productivity while adhering to KAMTEK’s plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee’s Charter.

Essential Functions

Visually discern potential weld quality and location concerns.Accurately use Ultrasound testing equipment to detect weld quality.Accurately identify adhesive nonconformance.Able to locate weld numbers using weld maps and/or Catia.Identify material thickness using Catia and/or micrometersPerform Hem, Clinch and Lazer Braze analyses and accurately report results.

Position Requirements

Able to perform manual destructs, as required.Able to distinguish the different types of fasteners used and their respective torque values.Have a strong working knowledge of computers, especially Microsoft Excel.Have a strong mechanical and working knowledge of Manual, Electric and Pneumatic Hand tools.Able to locate, organize and report on each test performed in the UT department.

Education/Work Experience

1-2 years minmum Automotive experienceHighschool Diploma or GED requiredExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Auto-CAD (preferred)  

Pay Range: $21.62 - 27.67
