We are hiring a Senior Product Designer to help craft the future of Slack. This role is on our Growth Design team, which focuses on helping more people discover, adopt, and get value from Slack. We design thoughtful, high-quality experiences that guide users through their journey, from trying Slack for the first time to growing their team and upgrading. Our team balances rapid experimentation with a deep commitment to craft, always keeping our customers' needs at the center.

We’re especially excited to expand our team in India, and are looking for a strong, experienced designer who can work independently while collaborating across time zones with a global team.

What you’ll be doingDrive the design vision and execution for a key area of the Slack productCollaborate with PMs, engineers, data scientists, and other designers to build customer-centric experiencesWork cross-functionally with Product and Engineering partners to represent the design team, facilitate design discussions, and give feedback in planning and product channelsWork across the entire product design process: strategy, user journeys, flows, wireframes, prototypes, visuals, and handoffSolicit feedback from your peers, including other product designers and teammates in your product team.Partner with engineering to ensure that our implementation and user experience are of high-qualityRaise the bar for craft by contributing to and evolving our design systemWork in close collaboration with Design Leadership to inform and improve our design processes

What you should have5+ years of experience as a product designer with a strong track record of shipping high-impact workAn outstanding portfolio, showcasing a foundation in Typography, Interaction, Visual Design and IdeationA growth mindset and ability to thrive and adapt to a fast-paced environment — we are heavily focused on experimentation!Able to think holistically to deliver exceptional craft and problem-solving across platforms: web, desktop and mobileA clear grasp of interaction design, usability, systems thinking, and accessibility best practicesAn understanding of dependencies between design, front-end and backend technologies and experience using a design systemSolid understanding of building usable, accessible, and modular designs that can scale to millions of users.Comfort working autonomously, navigating ambiguity, and influencing cross-functional partnersExperience working with Product Managers to develop the strategy and rationale for featuresExperience with prototyping as a means to explore and convey design solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills (especially if you love to use emoji 😎)
