Job Summary

DuPont Electronics is seeking a highly organized and experienced US Payroll Project Lead to oversee payroll operations for our US workforce and lead strategic payroll-related projects. This is a dual role requires a strong understanding of payroll compliance, systems, and processes, as well as project management skills to drive improvement initiatives across the payroll function.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership 

Lead payroll system implementations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables for payroll-related projects.Work closely with payroll vendors.Coordinate cross-functional teams (HRIS, IT, Finance) to support project execution.Identify automation and efficiency opportunities within payroll processes.Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in payroll systems and compliance.Provide reporting and analysis to support decision-making.

Payroll Management

Works collaboratively with Payroll team to oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all US employees (multi-state), ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure data integrity.Lead payroll audits and ensure documentation and processes are audit-ready.Respond to payroll-related inquiries from management and external partners.  Responsible for Tax Filing Oversight; including monitoring and managing federal, state, and local tax filings, working closely with payroll vendors and tax authorities to resolve any discrepancies or issues.Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state/local labor laws, including FLSA, IRS regulations, and state wage and hour rules.Manage payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and other withholdings. Mentor payroll staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management as needed.

Qualifications

 5+ years of experience in US payroll processing2+ years in a leadership or project management role.Strong knowledge of payroll laws, multi-state regulations, and tax requirements. Experience with major payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday, Ceridian, UKG); Proficiency in ADP GlobalViewProven experience managing payroll-related projects and process improvements.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.

Preferred

 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field  Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
