**The Opportunity**
Abbott is seeking a passionate, experienced and strategic medical device expert to join our Electrophysiology team as the US Internal Education Manager. This role will manage the Training Specialists and Clinical trainers and serve as the point person for all new hire and new product launch training strategies. Under the US Internal Education Manager’s leadership, the clinical instructor team will elevate the clinical acumen across the field.
**What You’ll Work On**
+ Lead and develop the EP Clinical Instructor team (will have direct reports).
+ Build and develop a team of instructors that are highly skilled in designing and applying adult learning concepts to deliver an engaging, effective, and high-quality training curriculum.
+ Provide leadership the monthly vision of development, planning, implementation, and execution of field clinical training.
+ Engage with U.S. Sales Leaders and US Marketing Managers to understand training needs and deployment of scalable training.
+ Develop and maintain cross-functional partnerships within R&D, Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Legal, and Regulatory teams to help create highly effective training that is and compliant and achieves business objectives.
+ Develops, implements and executes curricula and training content to build field success in clinical competence, technical knowledge, customer understanding, resource utilization and selling acumen.
+ Engages field organization through periodic visits to understand the current selling, competitive, clinical and healthcare environment and makes necessary changes to the curriculum to ensure employees are adequately trained.
+ Work with U.S. Strategy team to address any trainee learning gaps.
+ Maintains an in-depth knowledge of electrophysiology products, therapies, customers, and business objectives to develop, implement and execute continuing education programs for Abbott representatives.
+ Oversees the process to ensure training materials and delivery strategies are updated and relevant to the needs of our internal and external customers through collaboration with Strategy, Marketing and Education peers.
+ Develops metrics to assess effectiveness of educational programs and quickly implements changes to Educational programs if needed.
+ Operates a properly equipped education classroom and training facility- virtually and in-person.
+ Manage the team to ensure efficient development and delivery of training content that consistently meets compliance and quality standards.
+ Oversee consistent educational effectiveness and positive trainee experiences by reviewing effectiveness measures and driving a continuous training improvement mindset based on data and feedback.
+ Manages learning platforms to include, but not limited to the learning management system, personal reporting system, Salesforce, PowerPoint and Excel.
+ Align with peers in other divisions to position Abbott at the forefront of field training in the industry.
+ Manage an annual expense/cost center budget.
+ Support and deliver hands-on content for customer education visits.
+ Perform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelors’ degree.
+ Minimum 5+ years’ experience working in healthcare, life sciences, or technology‐based products.
+ Previous leadership experience.
+ Experience working with complex product portfolios in the medical device industry. Experience with strategic product planning and commercial execution. Developed leadership skills/experience, including the ability to map task interdependencies, prioritize such tasks, and develop, monitor and live within budgets as well as the demonstrated ability to forecast major milestones.
+ Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast‐paced, changing environment. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
+ Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
+ Understanding of both the technology and capabilities of the Division’s products, market and customer dynamics, and functional operations across departments.
+ Additionally, the successful candidate will exhibit: Positive attitude, leadership, desire and ability to lead the organization to ensure goals achievement, deep understanding of the complexities of market and customer needs, ability to develop, rationalize, and present strategy, strong analytical and computer skills, with working knowledge of financial models, strong work ethic, self‐motivation, and resourcefulness.

The base pay for this position is $97,300.00 – $194,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
