US Bilingual Clinician

Position Overview: 

The US Bilingual Clinician for the US Shelter, under close supervision of the Lead Clinician, is responsible for: Conducting a mental health assessment of all unaccompanied children (UC) in the US Program to enhance their optimal emotional and behavioral well-being. Identifying and treating UC with mental health symptoms and providing crisis intervention. Providing weekly individual and group psychotherapy sessions for all UC. Preparing UC for reunification or transition to the community by improving their social skills, assisting them to better manage their behaviors, adapt to differences in the culture and societal norms and enhancing other skills. Completing all initial and 30-day assessments in a timely manner, as per ORR policy and procedures. Providing clinical input to ensure each child is receiving the most appropriate level of care

Position Qualifications: 

Master’s degree in social work or mental health counseling with clinical experience in the program preferred. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in NY.  Excellent oral and written skills. Proficient computer skills. Ability to manage and promote a therapeutic environment, considering the varying clinical needs of each child. Fluent in English and Spanish.
