In this role, you will help the business navigate this multifaceted landscape, addressing risks such as anti-bribery, inappropriate inducement, data privacy, off-label promotion, fair competition, and bioethics. Balancing business needs with informed risk management and demonstrating a proactive ‘Business Partnering’ mentality is key to establishing the credibility and trust required to influence and sustain our Compliance Framework.
Accountabilities
Deliver strategic compliance advice and support, partnering with the business to assess and mitigate risk, educate, embed controls into business systems and processes, and develop pragmatic solutions consistent with AZ business policies.
Empower the business as the “first line of defense” for compliance and day-to-day risk management; enable the business to take smart risks and be agile in a fast-paced environment.
Provide compliance support and guidance for US-based Market Access and Medical customer-facing teams, collaborating with business unit compliance partners.
Partner with the business in proactively identifying, assessing, and handling Compliance risks associated with new commercial/medical strategies and ensure effective implementation of risk mitigation plans.
Develop and implement a Compliance risk-based monitoring plan for commercial and medical activities, identify trends, and work with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
Serve as the Secretariat to the AGC Governance Committee, supporting US BBU/OBU teams to mitigate PAP program risks.
Ensure that reports of suspected policy violations are addressed within the appropriate procedures of the AstraZeneca Compliance Program.
Serve as the BBU Compliance Voting Member on ACERT/MACERT to ensure all proposals are appropriately evaluated for risks and compliance with AZ policies.
Partner with Oncology and Rare Disease compliance, Global Assurance, Global Compliance Investigations, and Ethics & Privacy Enablement & Innovation Center (EPIC) teams to execute “second line of defense” accountabilities (e.g., monitoring, internal investigations, training and awareness, risk management) to support continuous improvement of our global compliance program.
Collaborate with the Associate Director, Compliance for Access Services to support reimbursement support strategy projects, programs, and risk evaluations.
Support driving and embedding the value of “Doing the Right Thing” and a culture of ethics and integrity.
Proactively provide inputs to the corporate compliance program and ensure effective timely execution.
Drive simplification and efficiency across Units and AZ; be an early adopter and champion of digital ways of working.
Independently interact with leaders, management teams, and different levels of the organization to provide advice, share findings, influence decision-making, including constructive challenges where needed.

Essential Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry in compliance, law, finance, audit, and/or risk management is preferred.
Deep knowledge of US healthcare compliance legal framework (e.g., FCA, AKS, FDCA, HIPAA, SOx) and UK’s ABPI and other relevant corporate governance, healthcare regulations, laws, and standards, including US-specific healthcare fraud & abuse regulations
In-depth knowledge and understanding of digital marketing, promotional and selling processes
Proven project management and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated success in continuous improvement of compliance frameworks across business units and/or markets
Skilled in delivering simple, business-driven solutions
Strong writing skills and ability to create policies, guidance documents, and written content that are clear and comprehensive for the business.
Desirable Skills/Experience
MBA or other post-graduate degree
