Join a dynamic R&D laboratory team as a Research Technician, focused on innovative gas and liquid separation processes within a leading energy company, where your contributions will drive advancements in carbon capture and utilization technologies.
Role Overview
Assist in research and development of new physical and chemical separation processes for hydrocarbons at lab, bench, and pilot scale. Prepare separation agents (solvents, adsorbents, membranes) and evaluate them with small-scale batch and flow units. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain separations test equipment including batch test reactors and microunits. Compile data and perform basic calculations related to data workup. Maintain general upkeep of the laboratory, including fabricating lab-scale pilot plants and performing routine instrument calibration. Schedule safety inspections, maintain chemical inventory, purchase equipment and chemicals, and file data for research engineers. Perform non-routine duties as required while ensuring safety when working with chemicals and high-pressure units. Assist in setting up new small bench scale equipment as needed. Conduct instrument calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on Gas Chromatographs and other lab instruments. Perform additional tasks such as packing & shipping samples, updating procedures, data analysis, and ordering supplies.Skills & Qualifications
Gas Chromatography (GC) proficiency. Strong mathematical skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and analytical instrument software. Ability to operate and maintain analytical instruments. Good oral and written communication skills.Education & Experience
Education: College degree in Chemistry or related field. Experience: Relevant laboratory experience preferred.Pay & Benefits
