Job Description

This role focuses on driving technological and process improvement activities to enhance productivity, reduce customer complaints, and minimize costs. The position involves coordinating the implementation of new capital manufacturing equipment and processes to optimize production and increase capacity. The successful candidate will work extensively in a Class 7 clean room, performing validations and setting up processes, with a strong emphasis on extrusion and medical tubing experience.

ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, implement, and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of flexible packaging products.Drive global projects, including identifying and sourcing capital needs to achieve best-in-class technology and processing.Perform cost improvement and quality improvement projects to support manufacturing goals that positively impact and reduce COGS.Define and manage project activities for the commercial release of new products and corresponding manufacturing processes.Collaborate with site operations leadership to identify and resolve technical systemic challenges and support commercial solutions.Act as a conduit to the commercial team in determining product requirements for new opportunities, including quote support as needed.Manage major validation efforts by scoping master validation plans and executing complex validation requirements.Translate customer needs into quantifiable CTQs to scope projects, report progress to targets, and create actionable plans.Apply risk management best practices by identifying hazards, estimating and evaluating associated risks, controlling these risks, and monitoring the effectiveness of risk controls.Collaborate and communicate effectively in a cross-functional organization using strong presentation skills.Essential SkillsExpertise in extrusion and tubing processes.Knowledge of polyolefin materials and their application.Experience in process engineering within the medical equipment and medical device sectors.Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.Industry experience in polymer extrusion and converting.Understanding of flexographic printing processes, including inks, plate materials, diluents, drying, and overall printing process.Proficiency in Project Management, Design of Experiment, Design for Lean Six Sigma, and Statistical Analysis.Additional Skills & QualificationsTrack record of being resourceful and innovative in driving projects to completion.Effective communication skills for conveying project expectations to team members and stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, identify errors and deficiencies, and perform research.Work Environment

The work environment includes extensive activity in a Class 7 clean room, requiring a focus on validation and process setup. The position involves collaboration across different functions within the organization, requiring effective communication and presentation skills to diverse audiences.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $57.69/hr.
