Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and running laboratory experiments, analyzing test specimens, and performing tasks related to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis. This role involves experimental setup, data collection, and data reporting, as well as inspection, testing, repair, and installation of equipment.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and run laboratory experiments.Analyze test specimens.Perform tasks on projects relating to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis, including experimental setup, data collection, and data reporting.Inspect, test, repair, and install equipment.Work independently on project activities under the supervision of the project investigator.Assist more experienced technicians, technologists, and professionals on technical assignments.Follow the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Assurance program on projects.Record research activities performed in the lab book.Prepare solutions, clean test cells, move items throughout the lab, and calibrate equipment following prescribed procedures.Essential SkillsExperience or knowledge in Chemistry (from a degree or work experience).Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and utilize tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a lab environment.Knowledge in chemical engineering and chemical testing.MUST HAVE: Mechanical aptitude and materials testing skills. (Can be outside a professional field)Work Environment

The work environment is a lab setting with a team of 12 technicians. Standard working hours are 8am to 5pm, with flexibility to start between 7am and 9am. The role may require overtime on a regular basis. The initial duration is 6-12 months on contract, with the potential for conversion to a direct position.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
