Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Pharmacy Technician, where you will play a crucial role in the manual filling of prescriptions, replenishing medications for automated dispensing stations, and packaging medications for distribution across Indiana and eventually Minnesota. You will maintain pharmacy systems and technology, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while monitoring inventory levels and expiration dates. Your responsibilities will include calibrating machines, troubleshooting pill cell issues, and ensuring continuous replenishment of medications using computer and scanner screens.
ResponsibilitiesManually fill prescriptions and package medications for distribution.Maintain pharmacy systems and technology, including inventory systems and automated medication counting machines.Monitor inventory levels and expiration dates for pharmaceuticals.Calibrate machines and apply settings to pill or capsule specifications.Troubleshoot pill cell issues throughout production.Maintain and track medication inventory by sorting, placing, and storing freight in appropriate locations.Restock and replenish medication while reporting low stock levels and ensuring stock rotation.Perform inventory cycle counts and assist with physical counts for inventories.Create reports using inventory information systems and monitor prescription inventory for expired pharmaceuticals.Support facility with reporting and paperwork to ensure productivity and pharmaceutical integrity.Ensure fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions in an automated central fill pharmacy to maintain a continuous and consistent workflow.Use scanner to identify and select pharmaceutical product and quantity for prescription orders.Verify size and strength of product before processing order and enter expiration date and lot numbers.Label prescriptions and weigh medication for accuracy of quantity.Prepare packages and distribute medications in a fast-paced production environment.Essential SkillsPharmacy technician license.Pharmacy technician certification.Registered Pharmacy Technician in Indiana.Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).PTCB certification.Strong attention to detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsMeets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.Holds an active/valid national certification certificate issued by PTCB or NHA (ExCPT).Retail or warehouse experience preferred.Prior experience in a central fill, pill-pak, specialty/mail order production pharmacy/shipping department preferred.Ability to move, lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.Work Environment
This position is based in a newer facility that employs heavy automation practices. The work environment is fast-paced, demanding a high level of attention to detail. Unlike retail pharmacies, this Central Fill Pharmacy facility prepares and packages prescriptions for retail pharmacies to dispense to patients. No customer service is involved; instead, the focus is solely on pharmacy technicians, shipping, and receiving. The facility does not engage in vaccine administration or point-of-care testing. Shifts are structured as four 10-hour days, with options for 1st shift (6AM - 4:15PM) and 2nd shift (4PM - 2:15AM) across varying days of the week. The facility remains closed on Thanksgiving.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.50/hr.
