Urban Outfitters is looking for a strategic and creative Planning Manager to lead our planning team in driving sales growth and profitability. This role is essential in shaping merchandise strategies that reflect our brand vision and business goals. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to translate trend insights into actionable plans, optimize inventory, and empower your team to deliver results.
Role Responsibilities Lead the development of merchandise plans that support sales, margin, and inventory goals across divisionsPartner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with corporate strategies and initiativesDeliver clear reporting and analysis to surface trends, identify opportunities, and support decision-makingTranslate merchant direction and trend insights into profitable strategiesChallenge existing processes and drive innovation in planning practicesManage, coach, and develop a high-performing planning teamOwn Open-to-Buy (OTB) and inventory management, identifying profit-driving opportunitiesSupport system enhancements and process improvements to elevate planning capabilitiesContribute to annual budgeting and forecasting processes Role Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Planning, Allocation, or a related fieldProven experience managing direct reports or leading a teamStrong financial and analytical acumenEffective team leadership and coaching skillsResults-driven with a strategic mindsetCreative problem solver with a “think outside the box” approachExcellent communication and collaboration skillsBachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field#LI-LR3
