Your Role
Under moderate supervision, the Assoc Scientist – Mfg Histology performs slide manufacturing, H&E staining, IHC staining, and other laboratory operations in Manufacturing associated with slide manufacturing and block qualification according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements; assists with document updates as necessary. Duties Include:
Perform slide manufacturing, H&E staining, IHC staining, and other work required for block qualification with accuracy and thoroughnessPerform basic troubleshooting on laboratory equipmentManufacture, label, and package products according to standard operating proceduresUse local ERP systems and approved documents to accurately document manufacturing processes.Perform required laboratory equipment maintenance and laboratory cleaning; maintain relevant laboratory recordsPerform laboratory inventory maintenanceEscalate any non-conformances to appropriate personnel, participate in the investigation process as neededAssist with updates to documents pertaining to lab procedures and product manufacturingManage time to ensure quality requirements and scheduled deadlines are metFollow regulatory and standard requirements as applicable to the site, i.e., MDSAP, ISO 13485, IVDR, and compliance with the site Quality ManualOther duties as assigned or required to support the business
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or other Life Science disciplineand 2+ years’ of Histology lab experience
OR
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or other Life Science discipline and 1+ years’ experience with general laboratory equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of ISO 13485 and other industry standardsStrong computer skills, including MS 365Excellent organizational skills and attention to detailGood time management and project management skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to create clear, concise written reports and accurately complete batch recordsExperience with SAP, SAP NEXT, or other ERP system strongly preferredMinimum of 1 year of experience in FDA regulated biotechnology, or pharmaceutical environment Experience using a microtome Experience performing IHC methods
