The Amazon Studios Local Originals seeks a Sr. Unscripted Creative Executive. You will have experience in both development and production, and the ability to identify material and talent and guide top-level writers and directors in the creation of outlines, scripts, cuts, and other material. Using your comprehensive knowledge of top tier film and premium television talent, you will build on your previous industry relationships and develop new ones. You will be joining a self-motivated, passionate and collaborative team environment. This position will be Toronto-based.
Responsibilities:
• Convey Amazon Studios TV strategy among top industry players; support relationship management to ensure positive and professional interaction.
• Seek out and recommend format proposals, scripts, and pitches.
• Work with writers to develop stories and scripts for Amazon Studios’ Unscripted Originals slate.
• Have a strong working knowledge of, and experience with, production companies and creatives.
• Provide support through all creative and logistical aspects of development, production, post-production, and launch.
• Support interactions between the Unscripted Originals department and all other Amazon Studios departments.
• Support new voices within the TV landscape for Mexcian Prime Video customers.
• Participate in internal status report, business, and Greenlight meetings pertaining to Unscripted Originals.
• Maintain a keen understanding of trends, social issues, and current events of interest to Mexican audiences and constantly iterate on ways to address these through Unscripted Originals programming.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of creative executive experience
- 5+ years of series development experience
- 10+ years of unscripted development and current programming in network/studio and production company roles experience
- Experience working with other departments such as casting, production, research, PR, business and legal affairs
- Experience overseeing all creative aspects of development production and post production
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the US media landscape
- Experience developing content that is award nominated, or from a broadcast network or streaming platform
