We are the Unified Communications (UC) Software Development team within Cisco Routing Business Unit under the Workplace Technology Group. Our team is responsible for a wide range of voice solutions, including Cisco flagship Voice Gateways (VG) for both Cloud Calling and On-Prem Calling, Digital Signal Processors (DSP) modules, as well as Analog and Digital Voice Modules operating on Catalyst 8200/8300 routing platforms. We also develop VoIP applications such as audio conferencing, transcoding, SWMTP, Fax, and Secure Modem for DoD and DoJ, and Secure Voice (TLS and sRTP).
Our mission is to develop and maintain a competitive and high-quality VG and VoIP products, support the transition from on-prem to cloud calling, and integrate key UC capabilities into Cisco SD-WAN.
Our major customers include U.S. government agencies (DoD, U.S. Army, FedRAMP), top financial institutions, healthcare providers, universities, FedEx, Disney, and leading retail stores.

Your ImpactYou will join a team of talented and experienced software engineers to help us maintain high CSAT (Customer Satisfaction). Your focus is Unified Communication customer support and sustaining.
Minimum Qualifications:BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. 7-11 years of Telecom or Networking industry experience. Hands on experience on End-to-End Software development in areas of VoIP or Voice Gateway products.Strong Embedded C programming and debugging skills. Capable of handling large SW code base and independently resolving customer issues (BEMS) with speed and quality.Deep understanding about VoIP, voice signaling protocol such as SIP/MGCP/SCCP, and voice media such as RTP and RTCP. Understand the analog interfaces such as FXS/FXO/E&M or the digital interfaces such as T1/E1/ISDN PRI, T1CAS/E1R2, and BRI. Voice Supplementary Services, in-band and out-of-band DTMF relay, T.38 fax relay, modem relay, V.150.1MERSolid knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs. Solid understanding on use of packet capture including wire shark to debug VoIP signaling and voice media path in the network.The ability to take on a problem and break it down for diagnosing and resolving issues at a system level.
