Meet the Team

We are the Unified Communications (UC) Software Development team within Cisco Routing Business Unit under the Workplace Technology Group. Our team is responsible for a wide range of voice solutions, including Cisco flagship Voice Gateways (VG) for both Cloud Calling and On-Prem Calling, Digital Signal Processors (DSP) modules, as well as Analog and Digital Voice Modules operating on Catalyst 8200/8300 routing platforms. We also develop VoIP applications such as audio conferencing, transcoding, SWMTP, Fax, and Secure Modem for DoD and DoJ, and Secure Voice (TLS and sRTP).

Our mission is to develop and maintain a competitive and high-quality VG and VoIP products, support the transition from on-prem to cloud calling, and integrate key UC capabilities into Cisco SD-WAN.

Our major customers include U.S. government agencies (DoD, U.S. Army, FedRAMP), top financial institutions, healthcare providers, universities, FedEx, Disney, and leading retail stores.

Your Impact

You will join a team of talented and experienced software engineers to design and develop cloud UC applications and Voice Gateway applications. Help to drive UC customer transition to the cloud.


Minimum Qualifications:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. 8-11 years of Telecom or Networking industry experience. Hands on experience and strong technical leadership on End-to-End Software development in areas of Cloud Calling Applications and VoIP.

• Strong Embedded C programming and debugging skills. Capable of handling large SW code base.

• Deep understanding of Cloud Calling and ZTP, SIP signaling, supplementary service call flows. In-depth knowledge about TLS and sRTP for secure voice.

• Hands-on experience with HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, XML parsing and processing

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex voice issues. Ability to take on a problem and break it down for diagnosing and resolving issues at a system level.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Self-motivated, result driven, and teamwork.

• Experience with networking protocols and socket programming

• Capable of setting up the testbed such as HTTP server with XML provisioning file and MS environment emulation

• Python script for P0 automation
