Your new role
You’ll provide administrative support to Underwriters and assist with them with key operational tasks such as processing, customer service, filing, and basic site surveys. You’ll also support policy administration for new business and renewals, ensuring service standards are met. Reporting to the Underwriting Manager, key responsibilities include:
Support the execution of timely and efficient underwriting activities by following established guidelines and referral rules.
Undertake a range of duties to provide effective support to underwriting teams.
Ensure accurate recording and processing of information in line with agreed procedures.
Assist the team with streamlined underwriting by processing, documenting and organizing assigned policies.
Build knowledge of products, systems, and processes.
Respond promptly to processing queries and requests.
About you
You’re a detail-oriented professional with strong administrative skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy working collaboratively and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work. You’ll have:
Experience
A background in insurance or financial services (admin experience preferred).
Proven customer service skills.
Familiarity with digital filing systems and document control processes.
Experience with data entry and processing.
Basic understanding of accounts receivable and debtor follow-up.
Skills & Attributes
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain well-structured filing systems.
Clear and professional communication (verbal and written).
Collaborative team player
Proactive problem-solver and ability to find solutions.
Tech-savvy - comfortable using Outlook, Word, and Excel (including report generation).
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Adaptable and deadline-driven.
Qualifications:
Necessary Qualifications include:
Secondary school certification.
Preferred Qualifications include:
Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
