Avant continues a forward-thinking quest of developing new products and creating new markets in order to grow revenue for our partners. **Job Summary:** The UW Supervisor acts as first level management for the Underwriting division, handling both personnel tasks and issues, as well as technical UW tasks. **Key Responsibilities:** + Help develop UW standards, methods, and processes in accordance with best practices and industry benchmarks. + Manage personnel training needs, development plans and stretch assignment for UW team. + Provide basic and complex system admin for issue resolution and problem solving. + Approve timecards, Paid Time Off, and other Payroll related functions as the supervisor. + Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances. + Manage the team’s performance using KPI's, monthly 1:1s, task reconciliations, reports, and audit procedures. + Build strong, positive agent relationships to promote profitability and growth of new business and the retention of existing business. + Identify opportunities for underwriting improvement and recommend solutions. + Underwrite and maintain a profitable book of business. **Desired Experience:** + 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Prior experience managing direct reports. + Conflict resolution skills and thorough understanding of company policy and procedures. + Minimum 5 years of experience underwriting commercial property and casualty (Must include General Liability, Product Liability and Property) + Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. + Cannabis underwriting experience preferred. + High School Diploma required; Associates degree or higher preferred + Certified UW and/or progressive training in UW/Insurance specific disciplines **Work Location:** This position is remote Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
