Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to provide underwriting support and ensure efficient processing of policies, endorsements, and related transactions. This role involves managing a high volume of incoming calls and emails, processing policy changes in accordance with underwriting and state guidelines, handling broker and agency updates and maintaining accurate records within our database. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities:

Underwrite new business bind orders to ensure within carrier underwriting guidelines and issue policyReview renewals for rating accuracy, as well as carrier meeting underwriting guidelines and release renewal offerProcess monetary and non-monetary policy endorsements in accordance with underwriting guidelines and company standards.Issue non-renewal and cancellation notices in compliance with state regulations for risks that no longer meet underwriting requirementsCheck agency/individual licenses are active in state(s) business being issued in – in states where appointments are required, collect paperwork and E&O and submit to Markel for appointment processing; Maintain and accurately enter appointment details into Excel spreadsheetsAnswer high volume of inbound calls, providing accurate information regarding underwriting guidelines, rating processes and eligibility requirementsCollect claim information from agents, adjusters, and insured parties, and promptly report details to Markel for processingProcess Broker of Record changes in compliance with company and regulatory requirementsProcess agency acquisitions and mergers by consolidating producer codes and merging policies within AdminManage and respond to incoming emails from brokers and agents regarding policy inquiries, underwriting questions and eligibilityReview, evaluate and underwrite quotes flagged/submitted for indication due to location, major violations, carriers or loss historyCollaborate with other internal depts to underwrite changes on renewals upon receipt of paymentPerform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft 365, including Teams, Word, Excess, OneNote and OutlookExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, organization, professionalism and customer-service mentalityPositive energy and ability to work independently as well as part of a teamDetail-oriented with initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to efficiently manage and respond to a high volume of incoming calls while maintaining accuracy and professionalismAbility to manage a high volume of work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Education/Experience:

Flexible, dependable, diligent, and positiveSelf-reliant, motivated, detail-oriented and a team playerKnown for your good common sense and sound judgementExperienced in property and casualty insurance a plus

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $25 - $27. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
