Underwriting Assistant, Dallas, TX 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

Provide superior policy servicing and underwriting support to the Excess Casualty, Major Standard business Unit. Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of operational underwriting support services, including monthly registration and issuance, to enable the achievement of Excess Casualty’s business plan objectives.  Utilize daily, weekly and monthly scorecards and reporting tools to monitor, illustrate and improve underwriting support and operations deliverables. Ensure achievement of electronic file integrity.  Maintain/exceed service standards in the areas of production, service, support and customer service/job approach. Monitor work queue items and take appropriate action to ensure timely processing of incoming requests and responses to all internal and external inquiries. Positively contribute to process re‐engineering, automation, and optimization activities which results in consistent delivery of underwriting support services. Provide training and assistance as required. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications 

Minimum Requirements:

College degree preferred and underwriting support experience a plus.1-2 years relevant experience within the property and casualty space.Knowledge and understanding of Property and Casualty insurance principles and practices a plus. Ability to establish priorities, coordinate and monitor personal work plan while maintaining status and oversight of multiple tasks. Must be able to function effectively and efficiently in a time sensitive and high volume environment.Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Excel & WordWillingness to take ownership for assigned work and production output.Commitment to quality.Strong communication skills, written and verbal.Must be detail oriented.

Ability to work independently, but also support a team environment.Strong organizational and prioritization skills.Flexible and adaptable to change.Proven analytical skills including the ability to identify and report problems or errors while working with significant amounts of detailed information. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with internal and external resources in a multi-cultural environment.
