The Continental Europe Underwriting Center in Madrid is an integral part of Chubb's EMEA business. By joining Chubb's multilingual and multiline business in Madrid, you will support small and medium-sized clients (and the brokers who serve them) in their own language.
The position reports directly to the Team Leader for Italy.
Responsibilities:
Provide excellent service to brokers and be a key contact for external and internal stakeholders, including the local country, for business processed in the underwriting center. This involves delivering premium service by maintaining attention to detail, speed of execution, and consistent messaging. Underwrite, evaluate, and price risks in accordance with Chubb guidelines and underwriting authority, demonstrating contract knowledge and price for risk skills. Work closely with underwriting and sales teams based in different locations in Europe to ensure portfolio sustainability, promote our offering, and exploit cross-selling opportunities. Review and adapt underwriting offers, leading contract negotiations with brokers, showcasing strong negotiation skills. Support brokers handling small and medium-sized enterprises by maintaining good commercial relationships, providing quality service, and meeting deadlines by phone and email, with occasional visits as necessary, emphasizing relationship-building. Ensure effective management of policies throughout their life cycle, applying risk selection and manage a portfolio strategies. Cooperate with internal departments such as Operations, Claims, Small and Middle Market Segments leaders, leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency. Support all developments necessary to achieve our business strategies, demonstrating adaptability and opportunity management.Requirements and Skills:
Native speaker or bilingual in Italian is a must.Business level of English is a must.Previous experience in P&C or Financial Lines underwriting is desirable.Previous experience in insurance sector is a must. Bachelor's degree is preferable.Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word).Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, to build relationships and deliver business presentations.Strong attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and willingness to deliver and improve the quality of our offerings, demonstrating prioritization of work.Good analytical skills to identify necessary improvement opportunities in the Chubb policy and instrument life cycle, with an interest in personal and team learning, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Customer-oriented aspect with good capacity for argumentation and negotiation, showcasing sales acumen.What We Offer in Return
