Underwriter - Flood

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Underwriting team at Torrent Technologies. This role will be based in Overland Park, Kalispell, or can be performed remotely nationwide. As a Flood Underwriter, you will work under the supervision of the Underwriting Manager, reviewing and analyzing quotations while servicing an existing book of business.

We will count on you to:

Underwrite new submissions to ensure new policies are correct, per guidelines.Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements, handle billing issues, and complete policy issuance.Review all underwriting information, including applications, photographs, elevation certificates, and third-party internet resources to accurately underwrite policies.Provide customer service to agents via phone support, online chat, and emails, meeting required production KPIs as defined by leadership.Deescalate difficult customer situations and bring them to complete resolution.Actively participate in group activities, including daily huddles, team meetings, and training opportunities.

What you need to have:

High school diploma or equivalent.1+ years of insurance underwriting experience, with flood experience preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Basic to intermediate technical knowledge of systems and procedures, with attention to detail.Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Previous customer service experience.2+ years of underwriting experience with an ANFI designation.Experience with underwriting methodologies and flood insurance practices, along with familiarity with organizational insurance procedures and policies.Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and clients.
