About the role What you need to know: AIG Underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Marine, Accident & Health and Multinational Clients. Based in our Rotterdam office located in the Rivium in Capelle aan den IJssel, you will be part of our team of experienced and enthusiastic Financial Lines professionals. You will be responsible for handling new business and reviewing and renewing existing books of business in our specialist Professional Indemnity portfolio with complex exposures. You will be fundamental in creating underwriting excellence and profitability for AIG. Key Responsibilities + Responsibility for a Professional Indemnity portfolio + Industry specific Professional Indemnity underwriting, both for renewal and new business. Developing accounts and securing retention through excellent service to clients and brokers. + Business development with strong focus on new clients and brokers. + Analysing risks, issuing quotes and underwriting the assigned risks with successful hit ratio for the realization of the attributed budget + Contribution to new product development. Drafting of new policies and updating of existing forms in collaboration with the team + Monitor product results and develop ideas to increase productivity and profitability + Ensure the visibility of the department through broker & client meetings, presentations and training. + Efficiently handling of policy issuance and account management, including booking instructions, policy drafting and follow-up with the Servicing Teams + Adherence to compliance and underwriting guidelines and playing an exemplary role towards other team members. + Profile + Master degree in (Applied) Economics, Finance or Law or equivalent through experience + Fluent Dutch and English, written and spoken + Professional Indemnity underwriting experience + Client-oriented attitude + Good financial, analytical, and presentation skills + Commitment to service quality & performing on a ‘first time right’-base + Courtesy, empathy and a helpful attitude dealing with external & internal clients + Capable of fostering a positive and productive team ethos + Stress resistant + Comfortable in using standard IT applications + Target and result oriented Offer AIG offers a competitive primary and secondary benefit package based on experience and function level accompanied with other advantages like global career opportunities and extensive training and personal development programs.
