About The Role

As a Benefit Analyst, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective marketing strategies for our employee benefits solutions.  You will also be responsible for analyzing the benefits landscape to ensure our offerings are competitive and attractive to potential clients.  This role works with sales and service teams on recommended markets and to gather additional information/supplemental applications required to obtain quotations. Establish and recommend appropriate coverages on new submissions. Determine with sales and service teams the best placement and terms for renewing accounts. Follow-up with carriers so that new and renewal quotes are delivered on a timely basis; negotiate with savvy and determination to get the best coverage/pricing/add-ons available to a client. Provide technical support to sales; specifically in analyzing client needs.

They stay updated on industry trends and provide ongoing support to the account manager teams regarding carrier and client related issues.  The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, a background n employee benefits and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Required to have the necessary insurance license(s).

Responsibilities: 

Analyze and compare different benefit plans offered by competitors.

Evaluate the effectiveness of current benefits programs and make recommendations for improvements.

Develop detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to Client Advisors, Account Executives and Account Managers.

Work closely with Client Advisors, Account Executives and Account Managers to understand client needs and develop tailored benefit solutions.

Assist in the creation of client-facing materials, such as brochures, presentations and proposals.

Maintain and update the database with market and client data.

Use data analytics to generate insight and support decision-making processes.

Coordinate with different departments, such as sales, product development, and customer services, to ensure a cohesive approach to marketing and benefit analysis.

Participate in cross-functional project teams to drive strategic initiatives.

Assist with enrollment process, including coordinating with carriers and providing necessary documentation when needed.

Stay updated on industry trends and changes in benefit offerings to provide clients with the most up-to-date information.

Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and account management, to develop strategies for client acquisition and retention.

Maintain accurate records and documentation for carrier interactions, proposals, and client communication.

Manages renewal data in agency management system for IFP, Life and micro groups.

Requirements: 

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation in correspondence. 

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

High degree of critical thinking; ability to problem solve when the answer is not readily apparent. 

Demonstrated attention to detail, producing outcomes with minimal errors. 

Understanding of insurance concepts and applicable law as it related to employee benefits. 

Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced environment. 

Ability to demonstrate advanced level proficiency with a variety of technology including MS Office 

Works well with minimal supervision; able to function independently and as part of a team. 

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or recognized equivalent is required.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in employee benefits industry or human resources is required.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast paced, professional office setting is required.

Previous insurance experience is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred, or equitable experience. 

L&H license required.
