About Gold Fields 

Gold Fields is a globally diversified gold producer with nine operating mines in Australia, South Africa, Ghana, Peru, Canada and Chile. Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region include St Ives, Agnew and Granny Smith mines and a 50:50 interest in the Gruyere JV project. 

 

The Role

Gold Fields are seeking skilled Underground Heavy Diesel Mechanics to carry out planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance across our diverse fleet of heavy mobile equipment, ensuring reliability and operational efficiency across our fleet.

 

Located at Granny Smith Mine, 21 km south of Laverton, Western Australia, this position operates on a 8 days on, 6 days off and 7 nights on, 7 nights off roster with FIFO available from Perth.

Requirements: 

Australian recognised Heavy Mechanical Trade Qualification

Previous experience in mechanical maintenance in an underground or surface environment and knowledge of mining technologies and equipment

Experience with Atlas M7C and E7C drills and MT6020 and MT65 trucks is desirable.

Experience with CAT R2900 and R1700 loaders is desirable.

Experience with Sandvik development drills DD421 is desirable.

Automotive Air Conditioning license preferred but not essential.

Valid C Class Manual driver’s license

Previous SAP & AMT experience is desirable
