Overview We are seeking an Ultrasound Technologist II , also known as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Ultrasound Tech II . The Ultrasound Tech II performs advanced ultrasound services and diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology. Ultrasound Technologists play a critical role in the diagnostic process by providing high-quality ultrasound images that assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed . Shift’s Available:   Variable Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN) Hours: Variable Location : St Mary’s Medical Center – Blue Springs, MO Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:  + Competitive compensation + Medical insurance benefit plan + 401K Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): + R esponsible for managing more complex patient cases and providing specialized care to patients with unique medical needs or conditions, this could involve collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop tailored imaging plans and treatment strategies + O perate ultrasound machines to produce real-time images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow, select appropriate imaging techniques and settings to capture clear and accurate images based on the specific clinical indication or area of interest + U se a handheld transducer (probe) to transmit high-frequency sound waves into the body and capture the returning echoes to create images, manipulate the transducer and adjust imaging parameters to obtain multiple views and optimize image quality + I nterpret ultrasound images in real-time to assess the structure, size, shape, and function of organs and tissues within the body, identify any abnormalities, lesions, or pathology that may be present and communicate findings to radiologists or referring physicians + M ay perform Doppler ultrasound studies to evaluate blood flow patterns and detect abnormalities such as vascular occlusions, stenosis, or thrombosis + P roficient in using advanced imaging techniques and technologies, such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound, or ultrasound-guided procedures (biopsies, aspirations, injections , thoracentesis, and paracentesis procedures ) + P erform a wider range of ultrasound examinations, including more complex or specialized imaging studies, this could involve imaging of specific organs or systems, such as obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, abdominal, cardiac, or musculoskeletal ultrasound Qualifications Education and Training Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers .
