Job Description
As an Ultrasound Technician, you will review appointment schedules and suggest necessary changes to optimize resource utilization, ensuring efficient service for patients and physicians. You will operate and maintain proficiency in all ultrasound equipment within the department to provide quality imaging, perform patient procedures, and ensure that images are correctly labeled with accurate identification.
ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain ultrasound imaging equipment.Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and addressing questions.Apply ultrasound gel and position the transducer to capture high-quality diagnostic images.Analyze images during the scan to ensure clarity and accuracy.Collaborate with physicians to interpret ultrasound results.Document findings and maintain accurate patient records.Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures such as biopsies.Ensure a clean, safe, and sterile environment in the imaging area.Essential SkillsProficiency in imaging and ultrasound technology.Experience in healthcare and scanning techniques.CPR certification.Registered with ARDMS in Abdomen.Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.Successful completion of physics and abdominal boards through ARDMS.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious hospital experience is preferred.Work Environment
This is a full-time position with shifts from Sunday to Tuesday, 7pm to 7am. The role offers up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. The work environment is a mission-driven, independent, nonprofit community health system located in Virginia's scenic Shenandoah Valley, providing a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services. The dress code is professional, and the facility emphasizes maintaining a clean and sterile imaging area.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
